In between styling & delivering hire items to an abundance of beautiful weddings & events each week, we occasionally get to collaborate on a fabulous photoshoot with a group of talented creatives, which we absolutely love! So, when the super-talented Photographer Tessa Kit approached us to be a part of the shoot she had envisioned for her business’s rebrand, we of course said yes! The overall aesthetic Tessa hoped to create was contemporary, modern & raw and featured styling that we knew would be absolutely breathtaking, not only for her brand but in any setting, for any wedding day! Come with us as we take you through the brief, the beauty, the stunning gowns and of course how to recreate this look for your wedding day.

The Brief

Tessa created an incredibly detailed & carefully considered brief with a very clear vision from the beginning which is such an exciting & engaging way for us to work, helping to bring our clients’ detailed vision to life. She walked us through the overall aesthetic from her choice of model, hair & makeup down to the smallest detail on the table settings and we pieced together our hire items to suit the brief.

The Aesthetic

Picture a secluded beach dotted with transparent ghost chairs & plinths encircled by rough seas and stormy skies. A dining table dripping with liquid-like fabrics of pearlescent tones interwoven with fine, tapered candles. Accents of gold amongst layers of silk, adding a metallic edge. Finished with wild, unstructured florals as the crowning feature.

The beauty

Our Model on the day was the beautiful Thais Vallone & Tessa enlisted the help of the incredibly talented Sophie Cox to continue the overall aesthetic of the shoot with Thais’ hair & makeup. Sophie opted for a very natural, loose wave that would move with the wind & add an extra, untamed element to the shoot. The makeup focused on highlighting Thais’ intense eyes, with a very neutral palette across the rest of the face, finishing with a touch of deep burgundy on the lips to add a darker dimension.

the gowns

The Series Bridal team provided a refined collection of designer gowns, perfect for the modern bride. All works of art in their own right, the dresses each comprised of fluid silhouettes & unrefined & understated elegance. The addition of the suit jacket was the perfect juxtaposition to the gowns with its structured form & rigid lines. Located in Byron Bay’s Arts and Industrial Estate, The Series’ Bridal showroom is tucked away from the busy town centre, and is a definite must-visit if you are searching for the perfect dress!

THE ceremony

Our Ghost Chairs & Clear Acrylic Plinths are essential pieces for the modern ceremony. Ceremony locations are often selected by couples based on their natural beauty or incredible view so it seems like such a shame to cover up the existing features with furniture & décor. These transparent pieces mean the best of both worlds! They are stylish, modern & minimal & do not impede on the space at all. Be it on the beach, in the hinterland or in a purpose-built space overlooking a stunning view, we highly recommend embracing transparency!

The Table

The stark white of the French linen tablecloths & the super light & ethereal hand-woven Fairy Silk that adorned the length of the table, blended together so beautifully, reflecting the white salt & spray of the ocean as it crashed along the shoreline. The stone of the Earthenware plates & oyster gold of the cutlery helped bring a raw earth element to the table, whilst the romance coupes & taper candles added a touch of elegance & refinement. The tablescape would not be complete without the collection of all white, unstructured, wild blooms.
